The foundation's purpose is to create employment and sustainable, independent enterprises that actively involve and benefit the poor and other underserved populations in rural Africa. We offer direct assistance and support to help develop individuals, community groups and small rural businesses producing art, craft, décor and other consumer products utilising traditional skills.
In Africa Foundation provides development support to the following groups of individuals and communities in rural Sub-Saharan Africa:
INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS AND ARTISANS - individual artists and artisans working in all mediums.
YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS - individuals and youth groups requiring skills training and guidance in enterprise development.
COMMUNITY-BASED ENTERPRISES - an organization comprising a group of people with traditional craft skills or produce working to meet the development needs of their community.
AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVES AND SMALL SCALE PRODUCERS - an organization formed by a group of small-scale farmers, artisans, or producers.
